HERMINIO S. ESGUERRA Chairman and CEO

Mr. Herminio S. Esguerra is the owner, founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of all companies under The Herma Group. Successfully grown into a billion-peso conglomerate, The Herma Group has eight active companies providing petroleum supply chain, maritime transport, ship building and environmental management services to foreign and domestic industrial partners. It is a shining example of how enterprise, excellence, integrity, respect for the individual, and teamwork can build industries and change lives.

Actively involved in the advocacy for environmental care and protection, Mr. Esguerra is also known in the field as a hard worker across social, public and national sectors.

After more than three decades of the business, he is still very active in top management and is regarded as a charismatic and persistent coach, determined to prepare his people well in the management of their organization.

EMELITO A. SOSA Managing Director for Ship Building and Maritime Infrastructure Division (SBMID)

Mr. Emelito A. Sosa, a distinguished graduate of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy, Class of 1988, with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, has had a remarkable career in the maritime industry. His academic achievements, including serving as Corps Intelligence Officer and graduating with honors, set the foundation for his journey. From a Deck Cadet scholar to a commissioned Ensign in the Philippine Navy, he played a vital role in the 1989 Mobilization as battalion N2. Transitioning from sailing on European tankers, he excelled ashore, rising from Deck Cadet to Chief Officer and later contributing significantly to Herma Shipping and Transport Corporation. Currently, as Managing Director of SBMID and concurrent Chief Operating Officer at Herma Port Terminals Inc. and Portside Industries Inc., Mr. Sosa’s extensive experience continues to shape the maritime and logistics sectors.

ATTY. NATHANIEL S. JOQUIÑO Chief Operating Officer, Herma Shipyard Inc.

Atty. Nathaniel S. Joquino, a certified professional in purchasing (CPP) and retired Navy Captain, graduated from the Philippine Military Academy in 1999 with a BS in Management. He earned his master’s degree from the Asian Institute of Management in 2007 and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Arellano University School of Law (AUSL) in 2017. Before joining HSI, he worked as a consultant at the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and Commission on Elections (COMELEC). Mr. Joquino previously served as Head of Finance and Commercial Division at Herma Shipyard and currently holds the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO) at HSI, where he provides leadership and vision for the company’s growth, ensuring proper operational controls, administrative procedures, and efficient financial management.

GELINE O. DEL ROSARIO VP for Commercial Division

Ms. Geline O. del Rosario is the first female Vice President within the Shipbuilding and Ship repair sector of the Herma Group. Ms. Del Rosario holds a double degree in Marketing from the De La Salle – College of St. Benilde and earned her master’s degree in 2023 from the Philippine Christian University. She was formerly with the Herma Shipping and Transport Corporation (HSTC), focusing on Fleet utilization for the Marine Transport and Logistics group. In her current role as the Vice President for the Commercial Division, Ms. del Rosario spearheads a high-performance team. Together, they manage facility utilization, ensure financial stability, and maximize profitability.

MANUELITO SIANGHIO VP for Technical Services Division

Mr. Manuelito Sianghio, a Far Eastern University marketing management bachelor’s degree holder. He helps and manages 27 years of their shipbuilding (barges) and ship repair at the family-owned shipyard in Navotas, Manila, which provided guidance for him throughout this time. He later pushed himself to join Herma Shipyard Inc. and step outside of his comfort zone to expand his knowledge and experience for another 16 years.

During the second quarter of 2007 the company presented to its first well-known cargo shipping clientele with a significant repair assignment and became the first high revenue generator; the rest is history. He was exposed to many HERMA trade divisions, such as Project Supervisor, Commercial Marketing, Commercial Head for Business Development, Operation Manager, and, at present, Vice President for Technical Services, which includes engineering, mechanical, electrical, and structural work as well as equipment management.

FEDERICO BALTAZAR HESARZA VP for Project Management Division

Mr. Federico Baltazar Hesarza, has education background of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, graduated from Technological Institute of the Philippines, batch 1992. He has more than 25 years of extensive experience in both ship repair and shipbuilding. Previously worked at Austal Philippines as Project Manager, successfully delivered several vessels from Europe and locally. Initiated the ship repair business of Austal. Have worked for UAE Navy modernization and shipbuilding for 2yrs and managed 5yrs experiences in ship repair of commercial vessel at Dubai Sea going vessels. Started his career at Navotas Shipyard and currently working as Vice-President of Project Management Department at Herma Shipyard.
